About the Latinx Practice Collective

What is the Collective?

Welcome to the Latinx Practice Collective - a membership program designed for Latinx private practice owners like you to get the support you need to grow your practice con confianza. We know you’re amazing at what you do as a clinician, but when it comes to the business side of things, it can feel a little overwhelming. That’s where we come in. Our collective is here to provide ongoing support, resources, and a community that truly understands your journey.

We’re not just about helping you with the "how-to’s" of running a business... We're about creating a space where you can get the tools, connect with others, and grow your practice while being supported by like-minded folks who get it. Whether you’re trying to figure out marketing, finances, or how to balance client care with running your practice, we’ve got you covered.

Our goal? To make that shift from clinician to business owner smoother, less stressful, and a whole lot more empowering. We want you to build the practice of your dreams while staying true to who you are and what you value.

Ready to level up your practice with the support and community you deserve? Let’s do this together!

Meet the Founders

Kathy Acosta, LCSW | Founder

Kathy Acosta leads as the Founder and CEO of HERO Counseling Center, a group practice she established in Ridgewood, NJ, in 2020. She also spearheads Hero Consultations and Coaching, offering expert guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to launch their own practices or evolve from solo to group practice settings.

With 14 years of experience in the field, Kathy, a licensed clinical social worker, has dedicated her career to empowering first-generation adults. Her own story as a proud first-generation Latina, raised by a mother from Honduras and a father from El Salvador, fuels her deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals from similar backgrounds.

Before diving into social work, Kathy navigated a successful 10-year career in business, gaining invaluable insights while pursuing her Masters in Social Work. This blend of professional experience and academic pursuit laid the foundation for her current ventures, enabling her to lead with a unique perspective and a relentless drive for success.

More than her professional identity, Kathy thrives in her roles as a loving wife and mother, and a dog mom to two pups. An avid reader and comic book enthusiast, Kathy believes in the power of storytelling to transform lives. She leverages this passion to help others craft their own narratives of resilience and triumph.

Her mantra, "Be your own HERO," captures the essence of her work—empowering individuals to seize control of their stories, conquer challenges, and emerge as heroes of their own lives. Kathy’s mission is clear: to inspire others to unearth their inner strength and become heroes in their own right, all while bringing a touch of fun to the journey!

Jasmine Ramirez, LCSW | Co-Founder

Jasmine is a therapist with extensive experience based in New York City, and brings over a decade of expertise to her practice. During her impactful seven-year tenure at a New York City hospital, she provided invaluable support to patients navigating serious illnesses and end-of-life care.

In October 2022, Jasmine took the bold step of establishing her private practice in New Jersey. Impressively, within a few short months, her practice evolved into a group setting, welcoming two additional clinicians since March 2023. Simultaneously, Jasmine is not only a therapist; she's a coach, speaker, and workshop facilitator. In 2020, she, along with her husband, started By Any Means Coaching (B.A.M.), a Financial Coaching company dedicated to empowering BIPOC communities to navigate financial planning without shame or guilt.

Jasmine's commitment to her profession is deeply rooted in her aspiration to make a meaningful impact on her community. Central to her philosophy is the belief that human connection stands as a powerful healer, a sentiment she incorporates into her heart-centered approach to redefining notions of financial success, therapy, and entrepreneurship within the community. When Jasmine isn't engaging in therapy or money talks, you can likely find her trying a new recipe, playing board games with friends, or traveling with her husband.
